Step 1. Post Your Bid Request
Posting a bid request is free, and enables you to post
your job or question to hundreds of translators across the
globe almost instantly!
To post your bid request, just click on the 'Post a project'
link.

You will be asked for information about your project. Be
thorough, because the more detail you give, the more bids
you'll receive and the better the final product will be.

Then sit back as your bid request is broadcast to thousands
of translators world-wide as well as promoted on the web
site, the 'latest bid requests' ticker and the TranslatorPlanet.com
mailing list. Within 24 hours, the average bid requester
receives 12.4 bids, and some many more!
Step 2. Receive Bids from Translators
Every time a translator makes a bid on your project, you'll
be notified by email..
Just click on the link to see the full information on the
bid. To examine their bidder themselves, just click on their
name and you can view their past work history, resume and
read what previous buyers had to say about them.
You can correspond back and forth with translators on your 'short
list' using the site bidding system. Additionally the site
offers a chat room on every bid request where you can correspond
more directly with translators. And on projects > $500, additional
translator info such as phone number, instant message id, etc.
are available.
Step 3. Choose and Accept Bid
When you have found the translator you want, just click
on the 'Pick a Translator' link next to their bid to choose
them.

You will then want to put money in escrow for the account
by credit card or paypal. Please see more about our safe
escrow system here.

For your protection, the funds are NOT paid directly to
the translator but are held in an escrow account until you accept
all or a percentage of the work. If there are problems at
any time, you can contact the facilitator to work out difficulties,
or request arbitration towards a full or partial refund
should you not receive 100% of what you asked for.
After escrow, you'll then receive a confirmation receipt
and information on how to contact the translator. Behind the
scenes, the translator will be emailed a notification of your
acceptance as well.
Step 4. Work is Done By Translator
We highly recommend corresponding regularly with your
translator to best guarantee that the end result is exactly what
you want. There are 2 ways to do this:
1) Via the same TranslatorPlanet.com bidding system that you used
to communicate with your translator before you accepted their
bid.
This method is recommended for the majority of projects
because all correspondence between yourself and the translator
(as well as associated documents) are archived on the site.
This is helpful when:
a) The translator and yourself disagree over what is to
be delivered. This is the #1 best way to protect yourself
should a disagreement arise and you need to go into arbitration.
Without this documentation, you may not be able to prove
that you asked for what you did.
b) You'd like to have a complete reference of all conversations,
as well as associated documents are stored in one convenient
to access place.
c) You have multiple bid requests open on the site and
you want a more convenient way to manage them.
2) Simply email the translator directly.
This is only recommended for small 1-2 day projects where
no formal documentation is required. To email a translator
directly, use their email address as found in the 'contact
information' section of the bid request.
Step 5. Receive and Approve Work
When the work is done, you'll receive an email from the
translator.
Attached to the email will be any deliverables. Please
be aware that the TranslatorPlanet.com email system sometimes gets
backed up due to the volume of large attachments being sent
like this. If your work is time sensitive, your translator has
been advised to also send you a copy via normal email.
When you've received the deliverables and are satisfied,
indicate your approval (so the translator can be paid from
the escrow account), by clicking on 'ok' in the Accept Work
section of your bid request. (You can also get there via
a link from the email). Note that you can accept all or
just a certain percentage of the work.
If you have any problems, 99% of the time you can just
communicate your concerns to the translator and have them
addressed. If you need an outside party to arbitrate, the
Rent a Translator facilitator is always available for you
at: facilitator@TranslatorPlanet.com
Step 6. Rate Translator
Now that you're done, please help to make the site a better
place for all custom software buyers by rating the translator's
performance. This lets them build a reputation online and
earn more work (or not as the case may be).

While rating, you can also provide additional comments and
feedback on your experience.

Step 1. Register to be a translator.

Make sure you enter a valid email address so we can verify
your identity.

Step 2. You will immediately receive an
email from us with a link that will bring you to the registration
page. Here you will choose a username and password. You
can also enter your company name, area of expertise, and
description of your skills and experience. We recommend
you enter in as much detail as possible so project managers
can determine if you are good fit for their project.

You can also upload a company logo. We recommend checking
'Notify me by e-mail when a project gets posted that is
relevant to me. " This way you can be informed of all
projects that you are an expert in.

Step 3. Choose projects to bid on. Click
on the 'projects' button to view all projects.

Step 4. When you find a project that interests
you, place a bid by clicking on the 'Place Bid' button.

You can enter how much you bid for the project and how
many days you can complete the project in. You can also
optionally click the 'Notify me by e-mail if someone bids
lower than me on this project. ' We recommend this so you
can be competitively priced.

Step 5. You can also post messages to
a message board. This information will ONLY be seen by the
project manager. This is a great place to start a discussion
with the project manager on the details of the project and
any questions that both parties may have. This
is a very crucial part of the bidding process since we DO
NOT allow outside communication (by direct email, instant
messaging, etc.) until a bid is accepted. This is to insure
that TranslatorPlanet.com receives it's commission from
the project manager and translator. You will be banned if
you break this rule.

Step 6. When a project manager accepts
your bid, you will receive an email and be able to accept
or deny the bid. After accepting a bid, you can contact
the project manager directly and do the work!

Congratulations. If all goes well, you will not only get
paid, but get a great review that will help build your business
in the future.
